Katie Dennis
My work with clients focuses on helping you discover and connect with your purpose, access the fullness of your potential, and live a life with more joy and freedom. In therapy, I’ll help you awaken your spirit and come home to your deepest, most intuitive, and whole Self.
My therapy approach isn’t just a short-term solution. In our time together I will also use humor, pop culture references, and relaxed language to transition in and out of the heavy stuff; utilizing skill development along the way to help you navigate the day to day. We may also get creative with some art therapy techniques.
For the deeper work I use EMDR and other trauma approaches to reveal the source of your pain and clean out the faulty root system so you can live a happy and healthy life, now and in the future.
The heart of my work is giving you the tools and skills to acquire deep, life-changing healing. It may not always feel like it, but there is a path forward.
When I'm not at the center you'll find me wandering the aisles of the Alameda Antique Fair, enjoying the beauty of Pismo Beach with family, hanging with friends at a baseball game or being creative with my nieces.
My educational background is:
Master's in Clinical Psychology: Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University
I have certifications in:
CAMFT Certified Supervisor
I have additional training in:
Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)
Image and transformation therapy (ImTT)
